Concurrent Training Effects on Muscle and Strength

I wanted to bring Eric on for round two, to discuss just how much effect activities like football, hiking, running, or other high intensity activities such as circuit training or crossfit have on our potential to grow muscle and build strength.

Specifically we dive deep into:

  • What the interference effect its
  • How much volume is needed to progress or at least maintain in strength and physique while concurrent training?
  • How to structure a week of concurrent training to mitigate muscle loss and/or decreases in performance
  • How to assess if you are doing too much
  • Rep ranges, intensity, calorie intake and much more

We also hear from Eric’s own journey competing in powerlifting, weightlifting and strongman events in a single 12 month period.
