In episode 4 of Purposeless Assessments, we embark on an exciting journey to uncover the location of the largest pyramid in the world. While most people immediately think of Egypt’s Great Pyramid of Giza, this episode reveals that the title of the largest pyramid by volume actually belongs to the Great Pyramid of Cholula, hidden in plain sight in Cholula, Puebla, Mexico. Known as Tlachihualtepetl, or "artificial mountain," this monumental structure was built by pre-Columbian Mesoamerican civilizations and is larger in volume than its Egyptian counterpart.

Our host guides us through the fascinating history of this pyramid, from its construction phases spanning over a millennium to the cultural and religious significance it held for the people who built it. You’ll learn about how the Spanish conquistadors built a church on top of it, mistaking it for a natural hill, and how the pyramid's layers reflect centuries of architectural and cultural evolution.

With fun facts such as the 8 kilometers of tunnels running through the pyramid, its record-breaking base size, and its surprising status as the "Largest Pyramid You’ve Never Heard Of," this episode is full of quirky and insightful details. We also explore the significance of this pyramid in terms of engineering and cultural blending, as well as how time has a way of burying even the grandest achievements.

Have you ever visited a site that completely changed your view of history? Or maybe there's a hidden marvel in your own town that deserves more attention? We’d love to hear your thoughts and stories. Reach out to us at umvato@deaunnamarie.com and share your perspective.

Next time, we’re diving into a more everyday mystery—the foil on pill bottles. Ever wondered why it’s there? Tune in to find out in the next episode of Purposeless Assessments. Until then, keep exploring the wonders, both big and small, hidden in our world!
