Hey weather watchers! It's your friendly neighborhood meteorologist here with the Austin forecast for Christmas and beyond.
Merry Christmas, folks! Santa might need a light jacket tonight because we're looking at a mostly cloudy evening with temperatures dropping to a crisp 56 degrees. No wind to speak of, so those reindeer can take it easy.
Christmas Day is shaping up to be a beauty - we'll start cloudy but gradually transition to mostly sunny skies, with temperatures climbing to a pleasant 68 degrees. A gentle north wind at around 5 miles per hour will add just a hint of crispness to the day.
Looking ahead, Thursday brings some excitement with a 50 percent chance of showers and potential thunderstorms. Temperatures will warm up to a comfortable 75 degrees, with some patchy fog in the morning that'll burn off as the day progresses.
The weekend looks absolutely stellar - sunny skies, temperatures hovering around 77 to 78 degrees, and calm winds perfect for outdoor activities. Monday will be another stunner, reaching near 81 degrees before a slight cooldown on Tuesday to around 70 degrees.
For those planning outdoor activities, you're in for a treat with mostly clear and sunny conditions over the next several days. Just keep a light layer handy for those cooler mornings and evenings.
