Brett Crozier: Lessons From Navy Captain On Leadership & The Mental Health Of A Leader | #42
Manage episode 366577044 series 3382768
Today I am honored to be joined by retired U.S. Navy Captain Brett Crozier.
Captain Crozier grew up in California, graduated for the U.S. Naval Academy, and went on to have a 30 year career in the Navy. He flew dozens of combat missions over Iraq and led at the highest levels of command.
In April of 2020, Captain Crozier captured the attention of the nation. As Captain of the USS Theodore, the most powerful and prestigious aircraft carrier in the United States Navy, Captain Crozier made the remarkable decision to plead with his superiors for help as COVID-19 spread through the vessel. Two days after making this plea, he was relieved of his command.
In his new book "Surf When You Can" Captain Crozier reflects on his life, his career, what it truly means to commit to what you believe in, the power of kindness, the importance of teamwork, and what it truly means to stand up for what you believe in.
