Welcome back to another empowering episode of the Career Woman's Secret Playbook Podcast. I'm your host, Dr. Dawn, and today we're delving into a topic that resonates with many ambitious women out there: breaking through the barriers on the corporate climb. In other words, what might be interfering with your success and your desire to seek out new opportunities at work and/or throw your hat in the ring for that promotion?
FIRST: let's identify some of the common obstacles women face on their journey. In today’s episode I am going to share with you 3 obstacles right off the bat that might be the problem: Bias, Limited Opportunities and Mentorship.
NEXT: Let’s talk about each of these and THEN find ways that we can overcome these obstacles!
#1: Bias: Whether it's gender bias, racial bias, or a combination of both, bias can be a major roadblock.
#2: Limited Opportunities: Sometimes it feels like the top rungs of the corporate ladder are reserved, leaving women with limited chances to ascend.
#3: Lack of Mentorship: The power of a mentor cannot be overstated. Many women struggle to find mentors who can guide them through the intricacies of corporate life.
