Ein Stück omanischen Alltags schlummerte in einem Tonkrug. Darin wurden bei einem Projekt zu Oasensiedlungen tausende Briefe und Schnipsel gefunden, davon zahlreiche an den Scheich Muhsin b. Zahran (gest. 1873). Was dieser Fund über Politik, Wirtschaft und Gesellschaft im Oman des 19. Jh. verrät, erzählt uns Dr. Michaela Hoffmann-Ruf von der Universität Bochum und dem Qalamos-Portal.
