Letty Wickey shares her experience growing up in an Amish community and the abuse and control she witnessed. She describes the strict rules and expectations placed on women, the lack of education and understanding of the Bible, and the pervasive abuse within the community. Letty also discusses the shunning of ex-Amish individuals and the manipulation and control exerted by the church. Despite feeling that something was wrong, Letty struggled with self-doubt and believed there was something wrong with her. She eventually left the Amish community and now has a different perspective on her upbringing. Letty shares her experience growing up in the Amish community and the religious abuse she endured. She discusses the lack of emotional expression and the suppression of emotions within the Amish culture. Letty also talks about her struggles with partying and drinking as a way to cope with her suppressed emotions. She shares her journey of healing and finding her identity outside of the Amish community, as well as her discovery of the restorative power of Jesus. Letty emphasizes the importance of facing past trauma and healing the heart and soul.
