These locomotives, which were initially grounded for over 30 years, have been revitalised and are now back in service. The discussion then shifts to Tanzania, where SMH Rail has remanufactured over 35 locomotives and supplied new units, funded by the World Bank. Additionally, Kannan outlines SMH Rail’s expansion plans in South Africa, including their partnership with Leruo Rail Africa and the establishment of a new facility to support locomotive and wagon maintenance.
