They may also employ guilt trips and emotional blackmail, preying on their former partner's empathy to regain control. Finally, if all else fails, the narcissist may launch a full-blown smear campaign, attempting to destroy their former partner’s reputation. The episode emphasizes that these manipulative tactics are all part of the narcissist’s desperate attempt to regain power and control.
