Taking your eyes off Christ removes your gaze from the most beautiful and important thing to ever exist. To find a godly husband or wife is to find someone who helps and encourages you to turn your gaze towards Jesus and keep it there. Does the person you're dating do this for you? Or are they pulling your gaze away? Are you doing this for the person you're dating? Or are you hindering them? These are the questions that need to be answered before two sinners come together in unity.
