It's often said that play is a child's natural language. Denise Folsom from Legacy House Counseling Center joins us to talk about play therapy and how utilizing it can help children verbalize and process challenges in a safe and nurturing environment. She tells us about some of the different modalities used, how different levels of trauma can impact children and shares books and workbooks that may be helpful for families. She also shares a more in-depth explanation of EMDR, why it is effective when treating trauma and how it can be used to help children.
