- Why Water Matters: You can only survive 3 days without it. It’s essential for drinking, hygiene, cooking, and first aid.
- How Much You Need: At least 1 gallon per person per day — more in hot climates or during high activity.
- Finding Water: Natural sources (rivers, lakes, rainwater), household sources (water heater, outdoor spigots), and creative options (dew collection, roof runoff).
- Purifying Water: Boiling, filters, purification tablets, and UV devices — always have backups.
- Storing Water:
- Short-Term: Store 2 weeks' worth per person in food-grade containers.
- Long-Term: Use 55-gallon drums or water bricks and rotate every 6–12 months.
- Water is life — store it, purify it, and plan ahead.
- Check your water supply this week — how much do you have stored, and is it enough?
