#10 - Holiday CHEER with CHEER Seattle

In the last episode of 2020, host Beau Bradley (he/they) sits down with their Cheer Seattle teammates, Todd (he/him), Molly (she/her), Michaela (she/her), and Jessica (she/her) to discuss the holidays. The group shares their favorite parts about the holidays, peppered with advice for those who may be struggling due to quarantine and/or family this time of year. In this emotional episode, Todd explains why it is important to have patience for our loved ones and what it was like coming out for him in the 1980s! Molly explains how she new that Cheer Seattle was the right place for her and how incredible it can be to have family, whether blood or chosen, support and respect you for who you are. Jessica gets raw, sharing her experiences being bullied as a cheerleader in high school and how it taught her to learn about people who are different from her, and to support them as well. Last, but certainly not least, Michaela makes us all laugh as we listen to her personal struggles with family, and how she has chosen to restructure the narrative. The best part about this episode, is hearing all of the heartwarming stories, experiences and friendships forged along the way of the chosen family that is Cheer Seattle!
