Welcome to Life on Duty, where we take you on a journey into the dark places that haunt each first responder or emergency room personnel, how it affected them, and the coping mechanisms they used along the way. We will discuss how facilities and management within first response can keep their staff's safety and well-being a priority; while touching base on other facets regarding second victims, PTSD, and other mental illnesses caused by the job. We hope to help spread awareness, educate through personal experience, and let others know they're not alone in their struggles. Listeners will hear stories ranging in severity of trauma from individuals of various backgrounds and life experiences; and how that trauma can impact them and their peers differently.
