The Olympic Games originated in ancient Greece as many as 3,000 years ago and were revived in the late 19th century. They have become the world’s preeminent sporting competition. This episode covers the most popular myth surrounding the origin of the Olympic Games. It is the story of Pelops, his wife Hippodameia, and her father, Oenomaus. Oenomaus' chariot race was one legendary origin of the Olympic Games.
