Cases:
1) In 1989, Sylvia Salinas was brutally murdered at her Galveston, Texas convenience store, leaving her family and community in shock. Known for her warm and caring personality, Sylvia was affectionately called "Auntie Syl" by the locals. On Halloween afternoon, a robbery took place at her store, and she was found stabbed to death. Despite significant blood evidence, her killer remained elusive for over three decades. Investigators believed the assailant may have had knowledge of the store's operations due to the timing of the crime, but no concrete leads emerged. In recent years, the case was re-examined, with evidence like a preserved VHS tape from the crime scene and bloody prints undergoing testing. However, as of now, Sylvia Salinas' murder remains unsolved.
2) In 1982, James Adamski, an 18-year-old high school senior from Cheektowaga, New York, attended a Halloween Eve party in Depew. He left the bar in the early morning hours of Halloween day, walking home alone. Despite being seen heavily intoxicated at the party and having a brief altercation that was resolved, James never made it home. His body was found two months later in a makeshift grave, still in his Halloween costume, with evidence suggesting he had been bludgeoned to death. Despite thorough investigations and interviews, no arrests were made, and leads grew cold. The case remains puzzling, as James was known as a friendly and well-liked young man. In 2017, the reward for information was increased, but only two inconclusive leads emerged. James's family continues to seek closure, and authorities hope that someone with vital information will come forward to solve the mystery of his murder.
3) In 1980, Derek Grain, a 39-year-old British man who had recently moved to Bristol, was brutally murdered on Halloween eve. Derek, described as kind and cheerful, had been out at nightclubs the evening prior and was found dead the next morning on Brandon Hill. His jacket was torn, bank cards scattered, and around £50-60 in cash taken, suggesting a robbery gone wrong. His injuries were severe, with a bloody footprint on his back, indicating he had been kicked in the head. The murder weapon was a sand-filled traffic cone found nearby. Despite the violent nature of the attack, no witnesses reported seeing anyone covered in blood in the area, even though it was Halloween and potentially busy. An anonymous caller mentioned a red Jaguar and a fight involving three or four men near the location, but it's unclear if it was related to Derek's death. The case remains unsolved, with unanswered questions and no leads, despite ongoing reviews and forensic analysis.
4) Roberta "Bobbie" Miller was found dead in her home at 123 Country Club Ln, Gilford NH, on November 1st, 2010 by her adult son Jonathan Miller. Lying in the kitchen was the body of her dog Scout, who had also been killed. It was determined she had died the night before and that the cause of death was determined to be several shotgun blasts that perforated Miller's carotid artery, brain, and lungs. There was no murder weapon, and there was no signs of forced entry into the home.
