Originally Published June 14, 2022. Today, we reconnect with an old friend to delve into his journey, insights, and extraordinary life! Ken Van Liew, the creator of the Modern Wealth Building Formula, initially tailored it for real estate but soon found it applicable across various fields.
Ken's story is one of resilience, overcoming adversity, and continuous improvement. He and Dr. Lycka met years ago at Steve Harrison's National Publicity Summit, both embarking on their journeys as authors. Starting his professional career as a civil engineer, Ken earned two master's degrees and built an impressive career in real estate. A pivotal moment in his journey came during the World Trade Center tragedies, prompting him to reflect deeply on his life's path and impact.
Ken Van Liew began his career as a civil design engineer, balancing twins and two master’s degrees, with significant debt and a desire to serve others. Sixteen years later, he developed a $17M, 72,000 square foot, 113-bed assisted living facility. He then embarked on a Staten Island waterfront project, which was halted due to the World Trade Center tragedies. This pause led him to reflect on his goals and impact. Ken has syndicated and developed over a billion dollars in high-profile real estate, wholesaled 137 deals in one year as co-founder of Flipping USA, and created the Modern Wealth Building Formula, empowering thousands of investors over 20 years. A real estate titan, Ken has influenced the New York skyline and regularly speaks at NYU Real Estate Institute and Rutgers University. He is a best-selling author, a stage magic enthusiast, married for over 30 years, and the proud father of three successful children.
