8. Mac vs PC, who wins?
Manage episode 357456590 series 1510179
In episode 8 of the Tech & Teaching Podcast, Jordan & Eric dive into the WHAT, HOW, and WHY around computer hardware and specs. Get ready to nerd out!
Jordan says, “If you get a computer with an Apple Silicon Processor in it, you’re good to go. It doesn’t matter if it is the M1 or the M2 or the super ultra max pro. YOU’RE GOOD!” You can stream on the MacBook Air—which is incredible to think about. BUT if you are going to be streaming in a warm environment, you may want to upgrade to the MacBook Pro for the built-in fans. Depending on your streaming setup, the Mac Mini may be a great and more affordable option, too!
If you’re in the PC world, the Intel processor you need for streaming is at the minimum an i5 but preferably an i7. Stay away from low-power processors, WE WANT HIGH POWER ALL THE TIME! Don’t skimp on GB of RAM, just get the 16GB. For graphics cards, 4GB is the middle ground and worth it. Don’t forget the ethernet port, and by the way, a gaming laptop would work well for streaming (but be sure to look at the processor & RAM)!
