When a young Eva Kollisch arrives as a refugee in New York in 1940, she finds a community among socialists who share her values and idealism. She soon discovers ‘the cause’ isn’t as idyllic as it seems. Little does she know this is the beginning of a lifelong commitment to activism and her determination to create radical change in ways that include belonging, love and one's full self. In addition to Eva Kollisch’s memoirs Girl in Movement (2000) and The Ground Under My Feet (2014), LBI’s collections include an oral history interview with Eva conducted in 2014 and the papers of Eva’s mother, poet Margarete Kolllisch, which document Eva’s childhood experience on the Kindertransport. Saint Crispin's Day was made famous by Shakespeare with Henry the Fifth's speech on the battlefield against the French, where he proclaimed, we "shall be remembered . . . we band of brothers." Paul used Hypernikomen at the conclusion of his first century letter to the followers of Christ in Rome to give them hope in the midst of their suffering. Paul wrote, "Who can separate us from the love of Christ? Can affliction or distress or persecution or famine or nakedness or danger or sword? ... No, in all these things we are more than conquerors through him who loved us. For I am persuaded that neither death nor life, nor angels nor rulers, nor things present nor things to come, nor powers, nor height nor depth, nor any other created thing will be able to separate us from the love of God that is in Christ Jesus our Lord." Jesus sends out the disciples to find the Person of Peace [Luke 10.6]. Who is the Person of Peace? In this Hypernikomen Talk we attempt to identify the person of peace and ask if we have such a person in our lives. Luke 10:1-12 (ESV) 10 After this the Lord appointed seventy-two others and sent them on ahead of him, two by two, into every town and place where he himself was about to go. 2 And he said to them, “The harvest is plentiful, but the laborers are few.
