Beware of Becoming a Modern Day Herodian Crusader

The Herodians were a sect of Jews back in the time Jesus was on the Earth. They were the world-lings whom were consumed and involved in the politics of the day. They supported Herod and were intertwined with the State. Unfortunately, I see this same thing happening today amongst Christians. They are getting involved in politics and intertwining Church and State together. Leaving their first love for a love of being Herodian Crusaders for Christ.

There is a subset of Christians for whom getting the right person in power has become their religion. Worshiping Christ and abiding in Holy living is not enough. Especially among the US Christian Brothers and Sisters whom are enamored with the 2024 Republican Campaign. For whom the RNC has become their church more than their local Assemblies. They have become distracted with all manor of things and taken their eyes off of Christ.

Much like those whom became distracted during the Covid19 hysteria over whatever side of the panic they were one. The enemy wants you distracted and looking away from Christ. He wants you distracted with the matters of the World over getting into the Word of God and worshipping The Lord with all your heart, mind and soul. Politics is a distraction; we should not be ignorant, but, it is not our focus. If you run to CNN or Newsmax faster than you run to your Bible or a doctrinally sound sermon there is a problem in your renewing of your mind.

If you have been caught up in this you can turn back now. Place your eyes squarely on Jesus and nowhere else. Get back into your Bibles and out of Rumble News Feeds. The Word tells us the politics of this World is not the answer and will only get worse and worse. We are better served turning towards how we can contribute to our local NT Assemblies and turning away from politics. The local Body of Christ; our local Assembly families care for us. Politicians only care about themselves.
