Vanessa emphasizes the need for support and understanding for those trying to extricate themselves from these relationships, comparing it to drug addiction. Not to mention the post-separation abuse that can occur, which more often than not, includes attempts to destroy the victim's life.

I had SO MUCH FUN chatting in up with Vanessa and learning all the things from her not only about my relationship with Dick, but about important topics and congruencies I wasn't even aware of.
