In 1972 the Robertson family and sea hitchhiker Robin Williams were on a mission to sail around the world. They were stranded at sea when a whale attacked their boat and cracked it in half, leaving them stranded to fend for themselves. They caught sea turtles and a shark to survive and even drank turtle blood! How did this family manage to survive 38 days on a life raft in the middle of the ocean? What was their motivation for going out to sea? And, how were they finally rescued?
