When a young Eva Kollisch arrives as a refugee in New York in 1940, she finds a community among socialists who share her values and idealism. She soon discovers ‘the cause’ isn’t as idyllic as it seems. Little does she know this is the beginning of a lifelong commitment to activism and her determination to create radical change in ways that include belonging, love and one's full self. In addition to Eva Kollisch’s memoirs Girl in Movement (2000) and The Ground Under My Feet (2014), LBI’s collections include an oral history interview with Eva conducted in 2014 and the papers of Eva’s mother, poet Margarete Kolllisch, which document Eva’s childhood experience on the Kindertransport. On this special Thanksgiving episode, we welcome producer Howard Kazanjian to the show! He is the producer of Return of the Jedi and Indiana Jones and the Raiders of the Lost Ark among many others! What was it like to work with George Lucas...AND Steven Spielberg...AND Alfred Hitchcock?? It’s an amazing hour+ conversation where we even talk about the most dangerous amusement park rides.

We’d like to dedicate this episode to the late J.W. Rinzler who initiated this interview. Rinzler is the author of ‘Howard Kazanjian: A Producer’s Life’, a phenomenal biography on the life and career of Mr. Kazanjian. There is so much in this book, you’ll want to pay for it twice. Also we want to thank Brandon Alinger who picked up where J.W. left off and help set up the discussion you are about to hear.

Opress returns to Mother Talzin who tells him to find his long-lost and exiled brother who will teach him how to become a powerful warrior. With his mission set, Opress leaves. Talzin then turns to her crystal orb where a fractured image of Maul materializes. This was part of the arc that was shown at the touring Clone Wars screenings in 2011. We break down issue 51: Resurrection of Evil from June 1981! There is a new super weapon being constructed called the Tarkin. Our heroes are sent to bring down this technological terror, and at the same time there is a plot within the Empire to kill Darth Vader! In the past, Marvel has tied-in Kenner action figures and playsets. Is that what they are doing here with the Scout Walker vehicle? Or was it because they wanted to feature the cool 2-legged walker seen in The Empire Strikes Back for 2 seconds. Today in Star Wars History Disney+ streams the episode, “Chapter 3: The Streets of Mos Espa” from The Book of Boba Fett which Guest stars Danny Trejo as the Rancor Keeper. (Does Danny Trejo make an appearance in this episode’s Marvel comic?) In “The Streets of Mos Espa” the Hutt Twins come to Boba Fett’s palace and offer their apologies for sending Black Krrsantan to kill him. This Book of Boba Fett episode also features the BEST Behind the scenes Easter Egg ever! During the speeder chase where the mods were pursuing the Mayor’s majordomo, one of the mods crashes through a Ralph McQuarrie painting of Jabba’s court from Return of the Jedi. #51 “RESURRECTION OF EVIL" Release Date: June 16, 1981 Writer: David Michelinie Artwork: Walt Simonson, Tom Palmer Cover Art: Walt Simonson General Rieekan receives word from Rebel spies that the Galactic Empire is constructing a new superweapon known as the Tarkin. The Rebel heroes are sent to infiltrate the Tarkin, however Darth Vader observes as they arrive and sets events in motion to capture his long sought after adversary, Luke Skywalker. But little does the Dark Lord know that some of his own men are secretly plotting against him due to his vicious punishments imposed against their fellow Imperial officers.
