If you want to be known for who you really are, accepted for who you really are, and loved for who you really are, then you must be willing to show all of who you really are. The light, the dark, the controversial, the contradictions, the sensitivity, and every other aspect of self.
It is only then that we actually relax into the acceptance of who we are and quieten the conversation of "yeah, but if they really knew you..." Of course, acceptance of self is also implicated here or rather projected.
