EP#214 Michael Anthony My Mission to end generational trauma
Manage episode 410899664 series 3567058
When I asked Michael Anthony to tell me why he fit the narrative of my show he sent me this message and it shifted my thinking as an adult who himself navigated through childhood traumas. The interview tells all.
Michael wrote:
I was born to a hyper-abusive drug addict mother who cut my finger off at 4 years old, a step-father you pray you never have, and a racist grandmother that pushed me into an identity crisis.
By the time I was 9, my family was in poverty and often homeless all while being a member of the Mormon Church. At twelve, I was adopted by my grandmother and quickly turned to drugs and alcohol to survive the continuing abuse. Despite multiple learning disabilities and not graduating high school on time, I found success in Corporate America in my early twenties.
However, success only made things worse. I found myself morbidly obese, high and drunk daily, and ultimately self-sabotaging everything around me. It was not until I hit rock bottom and found my inner power through my Mirror Moment and choosing to do whatever it took to work through childhood trauma that my life really began.
I started Think Unbroken three years ago with the mission to end generational trauma and to inspire people everywhere to become the heroes of their own story.
Michael is an entrepreneur, coach, podcast host, award-winning speaker, best-selling author, and advocate for adult survivors of childhood trauma.
