Alex Thompson, Product Manager at Fluke joins the show today to talk about the challenges in maintaining reliable EV charging infrastructure, including the lack of standardized testing methods and the high costs of Level 3 chargers. Who woulda thought that annual electrical system testing is a best practice to ensure EV charging stations remain operational and at peak performance? (Seems pretty obvious, right?) Alex also notes that federal funding is helping to address equity issues in EV infrastructure deployment while highlighting the stark differences in maintenance practices between the U.S. and Europe, with Europe having way stricter safety requirements.
