Its more than a one time thing… its a forever thing, but the clause is quite restrictive… but I do believe worth it. Its all about healing, deliverance, provision.

The Truth About Divine Healing

Divine healing through prayer is as old as the race of man. The first book of the Bible, Genesis, records the healing of the wives of a heathen king in response to the prayer of Abraham. The second book of the Bible, Exodus, gives us the terms of a distinctive covenant between the nation of Israel and Jehovah Rophie.-“The Lord thy Healer.” In this covenant God not only agreed to heal the people when sick, but not to permit the sicknesses of Egypt to touch them. Its terms are: “If thou wilt diligently hearken to the voice of the Lord thy God, and wilt do that which is right in his sight,

and wilt give ear to his commandments and keep all his

statutes"-on this condition Jehovah agrees,-“I will put

（permit) none of these diseases upon thee which I have brought upon the Egyptians: for I am the Lord, that healeth thee"（Exodus 15:26). Under this covenant the nation, 12-tribed, lived without doc-

tors or medicine for 450 years, until the nation of Israel had an army of 1,100,000, and Judah an army of 500,000. Figuring on the same basis as the number of Americans in the army during the World War, this would give Israel a combined population of

between 25 and 30 million. King David gives the most extraordinary report that history records.David says:"There was not one feeble person among

their tribes"(Psalm 105:37). such historic data should go far to convince the world of a day that an absolute trust in God is not Only a safe policy, but a most scientific guarantee of national health.

Isn’t it interesting that as America has gotten farther and farther from a God based biblical belief system we have also gotten more sick as a nation… yes, food quality is worse, health habits are worse, exercise as a daily habit is worse… yes all that is true. But we still can’t deny that as a nation that turns its back on God it turns into a sickly, diseased filled cancer ridden existence.

Now I get it… I sit here as someone who has had 3 cancers, a brain tumor, 20 surgeries and more… and I love God. So I am not saying that if you love God you won’t get sick… but I would be so bold as to say if you love God and you get sick… you will stand a better chance of surviving it.

Years ago I was talking to Samuel Success… from Africa, and yes thats his real name. When I asked him why he saw such great healings in his churches out in the bush… he smiled and without hesitation said “Because the hospitals are to far away to get to in time. If we tried to make it to the hospital we would surely die before we arrived.”

In a sense it was their only hope.

I think that is part of the equation here in this verse. What else could the children of Israel do when in a time of physical need? They had to rely on God… Again I am not talking about moving so far away up in the mountains that you don’t have any other choice but God… however there is a seed here that needs to be planted in our minds and our spirits… and that is this… Yes medicine is good, doctors are great and all that western medicine has to offer is a blessing… but do I still have an urgent dependence of God rather than a doctor or a bottle of pills.

YES I will see a doctor, I will take some pills and even get a few surgeries, but is God still the number one priority and number one survival option… maybe thats the prayer for us today… God whatever comes my way, May I see you as the most important and vital ingredient to the solution.
