Greetings, Leaders.

Our decisions will impact the quality of our lives and careers. Every decision impacts our lives and not only ours but also our family, clients, colleagues, and friends.

I was twenty-eight years old. Life and career dominated my thinking, and I felt hurried and rushed through life. I made many decisions while watching others and comparing myself to their accomplishments.

How could I ever catch up and be successful? The answer came to me through my little book from my friend Bill. I decided to focus on studying the lives of prominent men so that I could learn to navigate my journey in life and career.

I discovered an ancient king named David. Many say, the greatest king of all time. In studying his life, I gleaned principles I tested when making decisions.

The most significant value in a leader's legacy is you gain the perspective of their decisions and the impact on their lives as leaders.

One of the most valuable insights is that wisdom is essential for the best in life and career.

King David, a poet, warrior, king, and musician, wrote these words of wisdom that caught my attention.

"I will bless the LORD who has counseled me; Indeed, my mind instructs me in the night. I have set the LORD continually before me; Because He is at my right hand, I will not be shaken." King David, Psalm 16:7-8

Over the next thirty years of my career, I began to apply wisdom to every decision. I stumbled many times but persevered to gain the rewards of using Godly insight in my choices. Patience, perseverance, and practice are invaluable in learning and applying wisdom.

Here are some of the rewards of wisdom.

  1. It helps us remember valuable insights. - My child, always remember the things I have taught you. Store my commands in your heart.
  2. Contributes to a fulfilling life - If you do this, you will live many years, and your life will be satisfying.

3. Affects your thinking and relationships - Never let loyalty and kindness leave you! Tie them around your neck as a reminder.

Write them deep within your heart.

4. It opens doors of opportunity. Then, you will find favor with both God and people, and you will earn a good reputation.

- Proverbs 3: 1-3 NLT

How do I acquire wisdom?

I noticed that King David inquired or asked of the LORD when he faced decisions. So, I followed his example and began by asking God to give me wisdom for everything, including client meetings, conversations, sales challenges, relationships, and anything requiring my decision.

"If any of you lacks wisdom, you should ask God, who gives generously to all without finding fault, and it will be given to you." James 1:5

Ask God for wisdom wherever you are on your life and career journey.

"But the wisdom from above is, first of all, pure. It is also peace-loving, gentle at all times, and willing to yield to others. It is full of mercy and the fruit of good deeds. It shows no favoritism and is always sincere."

James 3:17

You will be happy with the outcomes! No wonder my heart is glad, and I rejoice. My body rests in safety.

Victory!
