How We Solve the Catholic Man Crisis w/ Fr. Jonathan Meyer | Ep 272
Manage episode 395468129 series 2917425
The Catholic Church has seen a steady decrease in mass attendance among the general population, but especially among men.
Why is it so hard to for the Church to retain boys and men? Why is religion not appealing to men anymore?
One theory provides four main causes:
1) There is no challenge coming from the average pulpit
2) Most parishes and Dioceses have an emasculated organizational culture
3) Ugly liturgical practices - as we lost our tradition, we also lost a great deal of our beauty in Catholicism
4) Parishes have no brotherhood - there is little to no fraternity in the average Catholic parish
In today's episode, Fr. Meyer and Nathan talk about how they believe we can right the ship and begin bringing men back into the faith.
