It’s special guest time! Alice, Holly and Georgia are joined by poet Benjamina Albanese to talk about 1999 Canadian comedy-drama Better Than Chocolate.
When Kim and Maggie meet, neither knows that within 48 hours they will be living together, alongside Maggie’s mum and brother. And the gay book shop is facing disaster as customs have impounded their books. Also Judy is having woman trouble and parent trouble. And the horny bisexual is on the rampage. And Holly’s convinced parts were directed by David Lynch is disguise. There’s a LOT going on in this film!
Join the gang as they discuss how the main two lesbians are just Trojan horses to get us to watch the more interesting supporting characters, and how the film tackles its trans lesbian character and the transphobia she faces, while being somewhat shocked that she is the only trans lesbian character any of the team have seen in a film!
