AFC Energy achieves 'significant milestone' with 200kW H-Power Generator

AFC Energy PLC (AIM:AFC, OTC:AFGYF)CEO Adam Bond speaks with Proactive's Stephen Gunnion about the company’s latest milestone: the delivery of its highest power-rated 200kW power generator. Bond described this achievement as a landmark in AFC Energy's journey to displace diesel generators with their innovative fuel cell technology. "We've designed a new technology, our S+ series, and that's basically to take us from 100kW all the way through to 500kW," said Bond. The new 200kW generator is poised to open new markets, including EV charging, marine applications, and critical infrastructure backup such as data centres. Bond emphasised the importance of this development, stating, "This technology did not exist two years ago. We've now delivered AFC's largest power generator in the high power class to date." Bond also highlighted the company’s partnership with ABB in mobility and the potential for scalability, "Two 500kW generators would give you a megawatt, and you can scale up from that sort of level." While the immediate market may not require generators larger than 500kW, the company is prepared for future growth as the availability and affordability of hydrogen improve. Looking ahead, AFC Energy is focused on ensuring efficient hydrogen consumption and lowering the total cost of ownership for its generators. The company is also working through the certification process for this new technology, aiming to complete it within six months.
