Manage episode 458108800 series 88596
On this episode of the Peristyle Podcasts hosts Ryan Abraham and Coach Harvey Hyde are back together giving their thoughts on USC's 35-31 victory over Texas A&M in the Las Vegas Bowl. he Trojans finished the season with a 7-6 record, going 4-5 in Big Ten play and bookending the season with victories over SEC opponents in Las Vegas, LSU in the opener and the Aggies to close it out.
Coach Hyde has some strong opinions regarding the performance of the team in Vegas, including the play of quarterback Jayden Maiava. The young signal caller had a rough start to the game and made some ill-advised throws that led to a trio of interceptions, but he also showed great leadership late in the game helping the Trojans complete their 17-point comeback win.
He also talks about some of the adjustments the USC defense made that led to three-straight stops in the second half, including a short field Aggie possession following a Maiava pick. He also has thoughts on how Lincoln Riley and the team handled themselves on the sidelines at Allegiant Stadium.
Now that the 2024 season has come to a close, Coach Hyde looks ahead to what he feels the prospects for the future are and where he feels this program needs to add talent from the NCAA Transfer Portal.
