The Edmonton Oilers continue to spiral ahead of Friday’s NHL Trade Deadline, suffering a 6-2 loss to the Anaheim Ducks at Rogers Place on Tuesday night. The Oilers have now dropped six of their last eight games, and with time running out before the deadline, serious questions remain about what needs to change.

Edmonton actually opened the scoring with a Leon Draisaitl powerplay goal, but things fell apart quickly as they allowed four unanswered goals in the final 8:03 of the first period. Calvin Pickard, making his second consecutive start, was pulled after the first period after giving up four goals on 11 shots. The Oilers never recovered and failed to mount any kind of serious comeback.
