Hey there, awesome surfers and beachgoers! Ready for a fun update on the waves? Let's dive into the Surf Zone Forecast for New York:
Starting with Kings (Brooklyn), we've got a high rip current risk until 6 PM EDT today. The surf's around 3 feet high with a cloudy sky and a chance of rain. So, keep an eye out if you're hitting up Coney Island Beach or Manhattan Beach. The surf temperature is in the upper 60s, pretty cool for a good splash!
Moving along to Southern Queens, similar high rip current risk persists until this evening, again with 3-foot waves. Jacob Riis Park and Rockaway Beach are calling your name, but watch out for those strong easterly winds at 15 to 20 mph.
Now over in Southern Nassau, Atlantic Beach, Long Beach, Lido Beach, and Jones Beach are all under that high rip current risk too. Don't forget your flotation device and always swim near a lifeguard!
In the southwestern part of Suffolk, including Gilgo State Park and Robert Moses State Park, the surf height is around 3 feet. We're looking at cloudy skies and maybe a bit of rain. The surf temperature is in the upper 60s while the air temperature hangs in the mid-60s. Great beach weather, right?
Lastly, for Southeastern Suffolk with spots like Smith Point and Cupsogue Beach, surf's around 4 feet high with an upper 60s temperature. It's mostly cloudy today with a chance of rain, so bring your waterproof gear just in case!
