Hey there beachgoers! Welcome to your New York surf forecast brought to you by the National Weather Service. Let's dive right in!
Starting off with today, we've got a moderate rip current risk at around 4 feet high surf. The UV index is very high, so don't forget that sunscreen, alright? The water temperature is a refreshing 70 degrees, perfect for a dip. Expect mostly sunny skies with highs in the mid-80s and a light south breeze at 10 mph.
Moving on to Friday, the rip current risk remains moderate with similar surf conditions. There's a chance of thunderstorms brewing, so keep an eye out. Highs will be in the mid-80s with a southwest wind at 10 mph.
As we head into the weekend, Saturday brings partly sunny skies with a chance of showers and thunderstorms in the lower 80s. Sunday heats up into the upper 80s with a similar chance of showers and storms. Monday looks to be mostly sunny with temperatures in the mid-80s. Just a heads up, there's a chance of showers and storms throughout the weekend.
Remember, always check with local beach patrols before hitting the waves, especially with the rip current risk. And don't forget your flotation device and to swim near a lifeguard at all times. If you find yourself caught in a rip current, relax and float, then swim parallel to the shore. Safety first, surf later!
