I can pinpoint the EXACT moment I stopped prioritising JOY and became obsessed with how I looked and whether other people liked or accepted how I looked. I was only 8 years old. But that moment stole DECADES of opportunities to reach my potential and have FUN.
THIS perpetuated a cycle of shrinking myself, silencing myself and holding myself back. I spent YEARS throughout my school and early adulthood life trying to blend into the background to NOT be noticed and picked on by anymore.
The REAL problem was that I didn't know how to cope with feeling self conscious or other people potentially judging me.
