Eugene is considering a natural gas ban and my fellow Commissioners approved a "Climate Action Plan" pushing for electrification over natural gas despite information showing that it will probably lead to an actual increase in carbon footprint and the destabilization of the electric grid. Continuing the topic of gas, our President thinks that using food for fuel will bring down inflation. We also got an update on the Holiday Farm fire recovery and we are still behind other counties in issuing permits and the number of homes destroyed has gone up due to better survey work. The Board also expanded the use of the Community Benefits bidding program against my wishes. This program is costing taxpayers more for our construction projects that could be used for other purposes like law enforcement. Speaking of law enforcement, I also want to discuss Highway 126 and the recent fatalities. We can also talk about anything else on your mind, just give us a call!
