In this episode, Emmeline sits down with Chris Mueller, Program Director of Deep Ellum Radio and the man behind the moniker at the famous Ghost of Blind Lemon music blog. Since he picked up a piano at age four and a CD of local music in high school, Chris has been obsessed with finding and amplifying the Dallas/Fort Worth bands with whom he most deeply connects. Chris began advocating for musicians through the Ghost of Blind Lemon blog, then quickly became a booking agent and a radio host. From his annual Ghosty Awards to his work with Foundation 45, Chris continues to surround himself with local music and opportunities for community improvement. He and Emmeline discuss the origins of mental health advocates, Foundation 45; the importance of real, lasting friendships among creatives; and how important it is to keep working at your craft in spite of the doubtful voices that plague.
