En 2022, la deuxième personnalité masculine préférée des Français est un astronaute qui s'appelle Thomas Pesquet. Après deux séjours dans la Station spatiale internationale, l'ISS, ce Normand nous fait rêver en partageant sur Internet les photos de ses activités dont l'objectif pourrait bien être d'aller un jour sur Mars. Le 16 novembre 2022, le programme Artémis qui pourrait transformer ce rêve en réalité a démarré.

Pour le moment, seuls des robots se sont posés sur la planète rouge. Y envoyer des humains est un grand défi technique mais ce projet pose aussi des questions philosophiques, politiques et économiques.

Alors, les humains doivent-ils aller sur Mars ? C’est la question du jour dans French Baratin !

Should humans go to Mars?

In 2022, France's second favorite male personality is an astronaut named Thomas Pesquet. After two stays on the International Space Station, the ISS, this man from Normandy is making us dream by sharing photos of his activities, the aim of which could well be to go to Mars one day. On November 16, 2022, the Artemis program, which could turn this dream into reality, got underway.

For the moment, only robots have landed on the Red Planet. Sending humans there is a major technical challenge, but the project also raises philosophical, political, and economic questions.

So, should humans go to Mars? That's the question of the day in French Baratin!

And it's a very topical question, since this episode comes out at the same time as the start of World Space Week.
