We speak with Shaandiin Cedar, a tribal member of the Navajo Nation and an advocate for indigenous-led climate action. Shaandiin discusses how Indigenous communities can help lead the way to addressing our climate crisis. We learn about the intricacies involved with climate justice for Native peoples, including both climate impacts that are already happening and avoiding or lessening future harms. How can we honor and center the experiences and wisdom of Indigenous peoples? And how can non-Native people support them during our shared climate crisis? Guest: Shaandiin Cedar, advocate for Indigenous-led climate action and Senior Associate, Powerhouse Ventures Great Guest Quote: “Not leveraging Indigenous ingenuity, I think, is just a giant missed opportunity for our collective effort to mitigate climate change.” Keywords:#climatejustice #indigenousrights #renewableenergy #solarenergy #climatecrisis #climateaction #EverydayClimateChampions Host: Dalya Massachi Transcript: https://docs.google.com/document/d/1ikq_PwyDWklbiGBltml3Laf7jarolTrJGr_p1W_Hrug/edit?usp=sharing This episode’s recap blog post: (coming soon) Did you know?
