When you know someone’s heart then you become very comfortable talking with them about certain things! If you know someone has done something to help you or someone else then you understand that is in their heart, it's a part of who they are and what they will do!
The first mention of the Lord's healing power is found in the beginning, the book of Genesis, when He answered Abraham's prayer and healed Abimelech's household. Abraham is the father of faith and we are now children of Abraham (Galatians 3:7), so we should expect to pray for those who need healing and God hears us!
*Read Genesis 20:17-18 (KJV) So Abraham prayed unto God: and God healed Abimelech, and his wife, and his maidservants; and they bare children. [18] For the Lord had fast closed up all the wombs of the house of Abimelech, because of Sarah Abraham's wife.
Many years later when Abraham's descendants became a nation, God promised to remove sickness from their midst if they served Him! They were servants, but we now are sons and daughters of the Most High God:
*Read Exodus 23:25 (KJV) And ye shall serve the Lord your God, and he shall bless thy bread, and thy water; and I will take sickness away from the midst of thee.
*Read 2 Corinthians 6:17-18 (KJV) Wherefore come out from among them, and be ye separate, saith the Lord, and touch not the unclean thing ; and I will receive you, [18] And will be a Father unto you, and ye shall be my sons and daughters, saith the Lord Almighty.
Salvation is one thing of the spirit but then there is Healing! Healing can be physical or emotional! The Prophet Jeremiah addressed it:
*Jeremiah 17:14 (KJV) Heal me, O Lord, and I shall be healed; save me, and I shall be saved: for thou art my praise.
Notice the “Heart of the HEALER”:
*Read Matthew 4:17-25 (KJV) From that time Jesus began to preach, and to say, Repent: for the kingdom of heaven is at hand. [18] And Jesus, walking by the sea of Galilee, saw two brethren, Simon called Peter, and Andrew his brother, casting a net into the sea: for they were fishers. [19] And he saith unto them, Follow me, and I will make you fishers of men. [20] And they straightway left their nets, and followed him. [21] And going on from thence, he saw other two brethren, James the son of Zebedee, and John his brother, in a ship with Zebedee their father, mending their nets; and he called them. [22] And they immediately left the ship and their father, and followed him. [23] And Jesus went about all Galilee, teaching in their synagogues, and preaching the gospel of the kingdom, and healing all manner of sickness and all manner of disease among the people. [24] And his fame went throughout all Syria: and they brought unto him all sick people that were taken with divers diseases and torments, and those which were possessed with devils, and those which were lunatick, and those that had the palsy; and he healed them. [25] And there followed him great multitudes of people from Galilee, and from Decapolis, and from Jerusalem, and from Judaea, and from beyond Jordan.
We are to have the “Heart of the HEALER” and follow in His footsteps, using His name:
*Read Luke 9:1-2 (KJV) Then he called his twelve disciples together, and gave them power and authority over all devils, and to cure diseases. [2] And he sent them to preach the kingdom of God, and to heal the sick.
But it was not just the 12 disciples, He also sent 70 others representing us today:
*Read Luke 10:1,17 (KJV) After these thing
