(A Recovery of Joy) WEEK #13 - 1112th day of the Year
Scripture 4 Today: Psalms 55:22 (KJV) Cast (to hurl) thy burden upon the LORD, and he shall sustain thee: he shall never suffer the righteous to be moved (to waver out of course).
New Year's Theme - “REJOICE” - The joy of the Christian experience is the key theme running through this epistle. The words "joy" and "rejoice" are used 16 times in the epistle. Paul wrote Philippians at a time when he was suffering in prison (under house arrest), when he was weary and wondered if he might soon lose his life for Christ. And he wrote to people he loved. So his words to the Christians in Philippi were heavy but caring; sad but consoling; appreciative but bittersweet.
This Epistle of Philippians teaches that HUMILITY mixed with HOPE overcomes HARDSHIP and results in JOY (See Psalms 118:24 & Nehemiah 8:10)
Series Theme Verses:
*John 15:11 (KJV) These things have I spoken unto you, that my"joy"might remain in you, and that your "joy" might be full.
*Philippians 4:4 (KJV)“REJOICE” in the Lord alway: and again I say,“REJOICE”.
From these verses we see that our source of “REJOICING” comes from the Word of God on the inside of the Believer! Keep in mind the Apostle Paul by the Holy Spirit is dealing with the power of thoughts. He is revealing how we as believers must guard our thought life! Did you know that the average person has 10,000 separate thoughts each day?
(FOOD 4 Thought: Watts of power used by the human brain when it's engaged in deep thought: 14; watts required to operate an IBM personal computer: 90.
Our thoughts have an incredible influence on our lives, for better or worse. As the Bible teaches us in Proverbs 23:7 (KJV), "For as he thinketh in his heart, so is he."
Our thoughts shape our beliefs, attitudes, and actions, which in turn shape our lives. This is why it's so important to guard our minds and fill them with thoughts that are positive, godly, and uplifting. By doing so, we set ourselves up for a life that is filled with joy, peace, and fulfillment. With that being said, let’s go to chapter 4:8 of Paul’s letter to the Philippians:
*Text Philippians 4:8 (KJV) Finally, brethren, whatsoever things are (#1) true, whatsoever things are (#2) honest, whatsoever things are (#3) just, whatsoever things are (#4) pure, whatsoever things are (#5) lovely, whatsoever things are of (#6) good report; if there be any (#7) virtue, and if there be any (#8) praise, think on these things.

*ReREAD Philippians 4:8 (KJV) Finally, brethren, whatsoever things are true, whatsoever things are honest, whatsoever things are just, whatsoever things are pure, whatsoever things are lovely, whatsoever things are of good report; if there be any virtue, and if there be any praise, think on these things.
Note V.2 “THINK” #3049 (log-id'-zom-ahee) to take an inventory and come to a conclusion! Remember the #8 in Bible numbers means new creation and new beginnings! When we are born again, our spirit is made brand new in Jesus but we must receive the extracted Word to save and renew our souls ( see James 1:21 & Romans 12:2)!
10 times in Genesis chapter 1 God basically said: “kind after kind”, then He said:
*READ Genesis 8:22 (KJV) While the earth remaineth, seedtime and harvest, and cold and heat, and summer and winter, and day and night shall
