Welcome to the Broken Sparrows podcast. In this second episode, I want to share with my listeners an epiphany I had about suffering. Too many of us, especially women, struggle with understanding how suffering in our lives fits with the God we know as good and loving. There's a particular verse in Isaiah that's challenging to read, but that makes sense as to why we suffer. You'll be surprised to learn that it actually brings God joy, because there is purpose in our pain.
I am a woman who's had a tough journey, struggling with everything from miscarriage to autoimmune disease to obesity and depression. What I've come to understand, though, is that God cares for the broken. Especially us women who carry heavy burdens and many losses and sorrows. Yet there is joy to be found, and I'm here to help you find it.
Can our suffering be a sign of God's favor, and be a form of service? I believe so. Together we look at Scripture within Isaiah 53, with a focus on verse 10.
