Listen to Ian Truelove, as he gives us an insight into how he includes negotiated assessment within level 5 of the BA (Hons) Illustration course.
Negotiated assessment allows students to understand how the marking criteria translates into judgement about their work. By involving them in the process, they gain an appreciation of the complexities involved, gives them an opportunity to judge and to justify their own work and practise negotiation skills. The approach, that Ian describes, provides students with an opportunity to instantly make sense of audio feedback and maximise the information they receive towards future assessments.
