One of his most liked is his beautiful rendition of Luther Vandross' "Promise Me". These magnificent covers have garnered him a following of over 60k on Instagram and over 86k on TikTok with no signs of slowing down.
In this episode, Troy and Darnel talk about how Darnel got started in the business nearly 30 years ago and how he persevered. Never giving up on his love for music and the dream of becoming a successful artist.
Darnel began his recording career in 1995 as part of the boy band 2nd Nature. These boys could sing! Troy and Darnel discuss these years and why they only had one album. Troy also played their modest hit, "Can U Show Me".
Never giving up, Darnel kept releasing music. Troy highlights some of the gems that he put out over the years as they conversed about each offering. Darnel explain why he keeps going and offers advice to aspiring artists.
Darnel's latest single, "What If," was released on October 18, 2024, and features background vocals and production by newcomer Jordan Johnston. What an incredible song! It is guaranteed to be a hit. They discuss how it came to fruition and gave the listener a snippet of a live version.
