And thanks to this recently unearthed, 21-year-old phone interview, you can hear the most gregarious John hype the band’s then-upcoming album Mink Car, detail a little onstage guitar experimentation, and ponder whether having music in a car commercial equals selling your soul (he doesn’t think so).
