In today's Daily Fix:Monster Hunter Wilds recently became the seventh-most-played game on Steam, and now official sales numbers have come in. The latest Monster Hunter has sold around 8 million units in the first three days of release, becoming one of Capcom's fastest-selling games, and pushing the franchise's total sales numbers to at least 116 million units. In other news, Tony Hawk's Pro Skater 3 + 4 Remastered is now a thing. The collection was announced today with a July 11 release date. It builds on the success of 2020's THPS 1 + 2 Remastered collection, with modern graphics, new and classic music, skaters, and levels. And finally, Xbox Game Pass Ultimate Wave 1 games have been revealed, and indie titles are taking center stage.…

In today's Daily Fix:We still haven't seen a new trailer for GTA 6, but Rockstar is expanding its portfolio of studios. Rockstar recently acquired Video Games Deluxe, who worked on the re-release of L.A. Noire and its VR spinoff, and helped fix Grand Theft Auto: The Trilogy—The Definitive Edition after its underwhelming launch. No word yet on how this impacts GTA 6, if at all. In other news, blurry screenshots have emerged from a canceled Twisted Metal project. The game was apparently an online title that had traditional vehicular combat mixed with battle royale and on-foot elements. And finally, Monster Hunter Wilds' cheese naan cutscene is sending players on an IRL foodie hunt for actual cheese naan. In fact, an Indian restaurant in Tokyo actually ran out of cheese trying to fill all the orders.…
In today's Daily Fix:InZOI, the new life sim aiming to take a piece of The Sims' pie, will hit early access on March 28th. No word yet on an official console release date. In other news, Monster Hunter Wilds has been out for a day, and its already breaking records. It's the seventh most-played game on Steam based on concurrents, with around 1 million players hunting monsters at the same time. It's so popular that Palworld developer Pocket Pair is giving the day off to employees so they could play the game. And finally, the PlayStation VR 2 is getting a permanent price cut. The VR attachment for PS5 was met with criticism back in 2023 for its high price tag, but if you're on the fence about it, it's now $399, down from $549. Good luck finding some worthwhile PSVR2 games, though.…
In today's Daily Fix:Happy 29th Anniversary, Pokémon! Nintendo dropped a new Pokemon Presents early this morning, and it came with a ton of new details on some upcoming and unannounced projects! We have new footage from Pokémon Legends: Z-A, updates to Pokémon Unite, the new season of the adorable Netflix show, Pokémonn Concierge, and our first look at the new Pokémon Champions battling game. In other monster news, Capcom has finalized the release times for Monster Hunter Wilds. Make sure you've pre-downloaded so you're ready when the game goes live TONIGHT. And finally, we have a trailer for the new Terminator 2D: No Fate, an awesome-looking 2D sidescroller based on arguable one of the greatest action movies of all time.…
In today's Daily Fix:Sony has revealed the lineup of new games coming to PlayStation Plus in March. Headlining the list is Dragon Age: The Veilguard, which is a fairly new game, having dropped just a few months ago. The fourth Dragon Age game failed to hit EA's sales goals, so putting the game on PS Plus so soon is likely an attempt at recouping some cash. In other news, BioWare's co-founder put Microsoft on blast for some bad advice during the original Xbox era. It was Microsoft's suggestion that cult favorite RPG Jade Empire be released for the OG Xbox right at the end of its life, just a few months shy of the Xbox 360's debut. Dr. Greg Zeschuk is convinced Jade Empire could've been a hit for BioWare if the game was held for newer hardware. And finally, comic book writer Gail Simone has seen the canceled Wonder Woman game, and is singing its praises. Too bad we'll never get to see for ourselves.…

In today's Daily Fix: Warner Bros. Discovery made the painful announcement that they were canceling work on the long-in-development Wonder Woman game, and closing three studios. The Wonder Woman game was first announced in 2021, but was stuck in development hell for years. WB reported spent around $100 million on its development. The three studios being closed or Monolith (who also developed the Shadow of Mordor games), Player First Games, and WB San Diego. In other news, Microsoft dropped a new teaser for the next Fable game, and the unfortunate news that the game is delayed until sometime in 2026. And finally, Bloober Team has signed another deal with Konami for a new game. The developer behind the Silent Hill 2 Remake did not announce what game this would be, but it will be based on an existing Konami IP . Another Silent Hill, perhaps? Or Castlevania?…

In todays' Daily Fix:Assassin's Creed Shadows is about a month from release, but that hasn't stopped copies from showing up in online marketplaces. Apparently older builds of the game are out in the wild, and people are already streaming it (those streams, of course, have been taken down). In other news, Spider-Man voice actor, Yuri Lowenthal, has confirmed Peter Parker will be in the third Insomniac Spider-Man game. In what capacity, he didn't say, but he teased that Parker won't just be sitting on a couch and letting Miles have all the fun. And finally, the trade war between the U.S. and China could be affecting gaming hardware, and Sony is preparing for just such a situation. They plan to move as much of the PS5's production outside of China, and stockpiling enough of them in the U.S. that hopefully they can meet demand until production costs level out.…

In today's Daily Fix:Developers for Chinese Pokémon copycat game, Pocket Monster: Remake, have issued a public apology after losing a lawsuit with Nintendo. And not only that, Nintendo was awarded around $15 million. In other news, Final Fantasy 7: Rebirth has finally hit Steam, where it debuted at number 3. This is a financial turnaround for the game, which has been available on PS5 for a year, and did not live up to sales expectations. And finally, PC parts maker Corsair has clarified its comments about the PC port of Grand Theft Auto 6. Corsair explained that they do not know when the game will come to PC, and previous comments were basically speculation.…

In today's Daily Fix:We're getting a "next-gen" update for GTA 5 on PC before we get GTA 6...which honestly has been a long time coming. The PC version of Grand Theft Auto 5 should now be on par—graphically—with the Xbox Series X and PS5 counterparts. Of course, no word yet on a new GTA 6 trailer. In entertainment news, Amazon MGM Studios now has full creative control over James Bond. Long-time franchise producers Barbara Broccoli and Michael G. Wilson are stepping aside, but will retain ownership. Amazon has been involved in the Bond film franchise ever since they purchased MGM several years ago. And finally, cult favorite 90s-era anime Samurai Pizza Cats is back, this time with a new side-scrolling action game.…
In today's Daily Fix:Ex-PlayStation exec Shuhei Yoshida heaped some praise on Naughty Dog's canceled The Last of Us live service game, but also gave a quick explanation as to why it was canned. According to Yoshida, developer Bungie explained to Sony what it really takes to make and run a live service title, and Sony decided to spend the resources elsewhere. In other news, Xbox's Phil Spencer seemingly concedes Xbox's place in the current Console Wars. Via an interview with XboxEra, Spencer says the company realizes the value of not trying to move gamers from other platforms to Xbox, and instead embrace trying to get their games played by the widest audience. And speaking of Xbox, Wave of February's Game Pass games have been revealed.…
In today's Daily Fix:Pro skater Tyshawn Jones accidentally let slip he's involved in a new Tony Hawk remake. Jones was featured in Tony Hawk's Pro Skater 1+2, a remake collection of the original two skateboarding games, and a remake of the third and fourth games have been rumored for some time. In other news, Nintendo is canceling its Gold Points program next month, but your accrued points are still valid until March of 2026. The company gave no reason as to why they're closing the program, or if a new one will take its place. And finally, Nike's new Air Max shoes are inspired by Donkey Kong, complete with pixelated textures for the insoles and faux Kong fur.…

In today's Daily Fix: Elden Ring Nightreign's network tests have had a rough start. Players trying to get into the multiplayer-centric spinoff weren't able to in some cases. The issues were so bad that developer FromSoftware may extend the window that the tests will be available. In other news, IGN had an extensive interview with the creators of Okami 2, confirming that yes, this is a direct sequel to the PS2-era Okami, and dropping some other juicy bits of info as well. And finally, Astro Bot continues to win bit at awards shows, taking home some big ones at last night's DICE Awards. And there's more Astro Bot coming, with a new level available now, and more on the way.…
In today's Daily Fix:Grand Theft Auto 6 is poised to be the biggest gaming release in year, but so far a PC release has not been confirmed. This comes despite sales of PC ports of major Triple-A games increasing. GTA 6 publisher Take-Two has recently hinted that the game will come to PC, but could only confirm a current-gen console release...for now. In other news, PlayStation Network went down for a whole day over the weekend, and despite giving subscribers 5 free days of the service, gamers want to know exactly what happened. Many cite the 2011 outtage and the theft of user data as the main reason. And finally, Dragon Quest 12 is coming...some day. In today's Daily Fix:WB Games has had a rough year. They had a dud with Suicide Squad: Kill the Justice League, which burned a $200 million hole in the company's wallet. Recently, MultiVersus was announced to be shutting down, and Harry Potter: Quidditch Champions did not live up to the franchise hype. On the DC front, Monolith's troubled Wonder Woman game is apparently stuck in development hell, but Rocksteady may be working on a new single-player Batman Arkham game. The company is also doubling down on Harry Potter, with more content for Hogwarts Legacy and a sequel on the way. In other news, Henry Cavill's 2005 audition for James Bond as leaked online, and gives 007 fans a glimpse of what could have been.…
According to the Take-Two financial earnings call that took place today, at the time of this recording, the parent company is confident that GTA 6 will hit its release date of Fall 2025. So that means rumors of a delay are just that: rumors. At least as of right now. But IGN spoke with Take-Two CEO Strauss Zelnick just before the financial report, and he said; “Look, there's always a risk of slippage and I think as soon as you say words like absolutely, you jinx things. So we feel really good about it." We of course probed a bit more, asking him for an update on the development of #GTA6 and how things are looking over at Rockstar Games, to which he responded: “I think the game is eagerly anticipated both internally and externally. We know that Rockstar seeks perfection. I never claim success before it occurs. I'm fond of saying arrogance is the enemy of continued success, so we're all running scared and looking over our shoulders and we know that the competition is not asleep. Our whole organization is super excited." The competition is definitely not asleep, just merely waiting for Rockstar to make a move so that they can get out of the way of one of the most anticipated games of the year. The CEO of EA recently said he was willing to delay the next Battlefield to the next fiscal year just to avoid #GrandTheftAuto6.…
