With Crinos lacking defined markers that would typically be used to identify sex, many Garou-born children are frequently raised without gender monikers until these children have announced their gender to the adults in their lives. For pronouns (if the sept is kind), many young English-dominate Garou-born take to using the term Nip as a catch-all until they announce their gender. It’s believed to be shorthand for the historic term for child, knipperkin, though that is contested. Many see this announcement as the first stage of a Garou-born reaching adulthood in much the same way as the first human signs of puberty. When the Garou-born makes their announcement, they are taught this ritual by elder Garou-born.
