Another Park in Des Moines may get a makeover. Check out this hand drawing of a new sprayground concept for Burke Park off University near the Botanical Garden. Learn more about the plans to improve Burke Park by attending a public meeting on January 12 at 6 p.m. at Carver Community School.

Construction crews in Altoona will be working around 1st Avenue. The city says these are utility companies working on relocations, preparing for the next phase of 1st Avenue reconstruction in the spring. No road closures to report at this time.
The City of Ankeny has permitted a record amount of new investment valued at over $528 million in commercial and residential construction. This is the fourth consecutive year that Ankeny permitted more than $400 million in construction projects.
