Building Bridges of Love for Children in Brazil | Sara Vargas
Manage episode 328778579 series 2968905
Welcome to Mindshift, a podcast by the Homecoming project that exists to equip and empower you to advocate on behalf of vulnerable children around the world.
In this episode, join host Krish Kandiah as he speaks to Sara Vargas about her work with vulnerable children in Brazil. Sara talks about the importance of finding families for children, rather than children for families, and the incredible shift she has seen in Brazil with people stepping forward to adopt older children, children in sibling groups, and children from ethnic minority backgrounds. Sara carries a passion and vision to see vulnerable children reach their potential and to see everyone play their part to make that happen. We hope you enjoy listening to this inspiring conversation.
Dr Krish Kandiah, host and friend of the Homecoming project, is a government advisor in child welfare, an author, theologian, and activist based in the UK. Krish and his wife Miriam have six children through birth, adoption, and fostering.
Sara Vargas is the founder and executive coordinator for Pontes de Amor (Bridges of Love) in Brazil.
Recorded in October 2019, this podcast was brought to you by the Homecoming project – because children thrive in families.
